Politicians Speak to DC 47 Delegates

Several local elected officials running in the November General Election spoke to DC 47 Delegates Thursday night. Derek Green , Blondell Reynolds-Brown, Bobby Henon and Helen Gym  were all endorsed by DC 47. Green and Gym will be new members of City Council. Reynolds-Brown and Henon are incumbents running for re-election to City Council. Henon represents the 6th District and Reynolds-Brown is at-large.

Papal Visit Means Pension Checks Coming Early

Due to the Papal Visit, the City of Philadelphia Board of Pension and Retirement will be depositing or mailing out the September PENSION CHECKS to retirees early. Checks will go out on Wednesday, September 22, 2015. Additionally, the Pension Board and the Deferred Comp Offices will be closed from Thursday, September 24 to Monday, September 28. 2015.

Library closings:

THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 24TH
The entire Free Library of Philadelphia system will be open AND will operate on regular hours EXCEPT for Parkway Central, which will close at 5:00p.m.

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 25TH
Parkway Central, the Annex, Rodin Place, and the Finance trailers (i.e. those facilities inside the Event Box) will be inaccessible and therefore closed.
ALL employees that work their regular schedule at any of the above mentioned locations will receive E time and are not required to report for work on this day.
Those employees (i) who live inside the Event Box, and (ii) do not work at any of the above mentioned locations, and (iii) are not able to get to their regular work location are required to redeploy to neighboring branches. These branches include: PCI, Independence, Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped, and the Rosenbach.

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 26TH

SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 27TH
· The entire Free Library of Philadelphia system will be closed.

MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 28TH

Honorable Kevin M. Dougherty issued an Order on behalf of the AGB ordering the administrative closure of the Courts and Offices of the First Judicial District of Pennsylvania on the following days: 9/23/15; 9/24/15; 9/25/15; and 9/28/15. Employees will not need to use their vacation or other Administrative leave for any of these days. In addition, employees will not be charged for previously approved administrative leave or vacation time for any of these days. However, the pay status of employees on all leaves of absences, whether paid or unpaid, will not change.

Please note that those employees needed for essential services will be asked to report to work and if so, in addition to regular pay, will receive comp time on an hour for hour basis unless overtime is applicable.

Court and FJD offices will reopen on Tuesday, September 29, 2015 and all employees are to report at their normally scheduled time.
