Sisters and Brothers of Locals 2186 & 2187:

On June 2, 2017, District Council 47 and the City of Philadelphia exchanged proposals for a new collective bargaining agreement. While both parties are expressing a willingness to achieve a tentative agreement for you to ratify, the amount of proposals from your leadership and the City will take time and effort to reconcile.

As a union, we are only as strong as our weakest link.  For us to be successful in these contract negotiations, all of us need to work together as a collective body. We cannot afford divisiveness or distractions within our union to prevent us from obtaining our goal. Members who attempt to undermine this process or leadership of District Council 47 only exacerbates an already difficult process.

It is my intent to keep you informed of the progress of our City negotiations, or lack thereof. Please follow me on Twitter or visit our website dc47union.org for up to date information. If you have any suggestions or concerns, please contact Vice President Ethelind Baylor or myself directly.

Our only objective is to serve the needs of our members.  We want to negotiate the best tentative agreement for you to consider, which will help you maintain the standard of living that you have become accustomed to and deserve.
