Local 810 along with District Council 47 have expressed concerns regarding the building conditions in 1401 Arch St., particularly the 14th floor where there has been water damage along with crumbling/peeling wall surfaces. First Judicial District Human Resources has requested that testing be conducted as soon as possible, on the substances that are exposed on the walls of the 14th floor. That’s being done to ensure the safety of our members. As of June 30, 2014, building management has agreed to bring in a 3rd party to conduct this testing.  Once they have identified this party, we will work on scheduling the testing at a time that is convenient to all parties (City, FJD, Union).

If you are ever injured or exposed to anything unhealthy or hazardous during the course of your duties, whether it be in the field or in the office, you must contact your immediate supervisor and complete the COPA form. Once the form is completed, you will be referred to a City Comp Clinic for examination. In the event of an emergency, you will be transported to a hospital. Recently, several of our members have been exposed to mold, bug bites, and minor accidents. So, it is important that the necessary steps are followed so our members are properly accommodated.
